BonkersBet do have a proper, sports-specific welcome offer in place, which is a good start! With that said, though, the actual quality of the offer is debatable.
The BonkersBet new customer offer is labelled as a ‘100% Welcome Bonus’, essentially offering to double your initial deposit. To actually do this, however, you’ll need to satisfy some pretty challenging requirements. Here are the main Ts & Cs to be aware of:
- Minimum qualifying deposit of €10 (or currency equivalent)
- Maximum bonus amount is €100
- Entire deposit and bonus amount must be wagered 5 times, at odds of at least evens (2.0), before bonus can be withdrawn
- Wagering requirements must be satisfied within 30 days
- Handicap, Draw No Bet and Double Chance bets do not count towards the rollover requirements
To be honest, the offer isn’t explained brilliantly on the website. Even so, one thing is clear: you’ll have to pay a pretty hefty price to get the best out of this deal, as you can see from our third bullet point.
Let’s say you’re depositing €20, for a €20 bonus. In this case, you’d need to wager through €200 (€40 total, multiplied by five) in order to simply get that extra €20. That’s asking quite a lot, although in fairness you are given 30 days to do this, which does make things considerably easier.
Overall the BonkersBet offer for newcomers isn’t exactly a world-beater, but it’s certainly respectable.

Few things in the betting arena annoy us quite so much as a new bookmaker which hasn’t bothered to put a decent range of promotions in place. It’s simply such an obvious ‘must-have’ when you’re trying to not only get new customers in as quickly as possible, but to retain them too.
Unfortunately, as you can probably guess, the BonkersBet promotions very much fall into this category. In fact, we can’t even call them ‘promotions’ – plural – because there’s literally only one of them. We despair!
It’s particularly frustrating because the one promotion which is in place – an accumulator bonus – is actually pretty good. When you have a football accumulator with at least 5 selections, BonkersBet will automatically give you a 7.5% bonus on your winnings if it comes in. If you add more selections, the bonus amount goes up too: 15% for a 7-fold, 30% for a 10-fold, and so on. Each selection only needs to be at odds of 1/5 (1.20) or higher, and the offer extends to all of the ‘Big Five’ European leagues.
Clearly BonkersBet are perfectly capable of putting a good promotion together. It’s a real shame, therefore, that they haven’t bothered to do so a few more times.

Whether you’re a brand new bookie like BonkersBet, or you’ve been around forever like Ladbrokes or William Hill, there are certain fundamentals you need to nail. If you’re trying to appeal to a European market, then one of those is undoubtedly football.
Somewhat annoyingly, there isn’t a dedicated football section on BonkersBet; there’s no ‘home page’ which simply relates to the beautiful game. This minor frustration is offset, though, by the fact that – by default – you’ll see football markets laid out for you at the top of the main sports section. This is arranged in a fashion which you’d usually expect to find on such a home page: the biggest upcoming matches are listed up top, in-play games are just below them, and so on. It’s still easy, therefore, to quickly find a big game that you want to bet on.
If you want to hunt out a specific market, this is also easy enough to accomplish. There are a series of drop-down menus on the left of the screen, through which you can navigate via country or continent to locate the competition you want to bet on (the sub-sections for outright and special bets are also found through these menus). Once you’ve located the correct competition, you’ll find all the upcoming games laid out for you in a clear and simple manner. Pleasingly, you can choose whether you want to see regular 1/X/2 odds displayed for all those matches, or something more exotic like Over/Under, Draw No Bet, and even Asian Handicap.
Regarding other features, this section is a little light on the ground. While in-play and a BonkersBet cash out feature are both present and correct, there’s no live streaming whatsoever. This is pretty common for smaller bookies though, and shouldn’t detract from the fact that – overall – this is a very solid football section indeed.
Other Betting Markets
It won’t surprise you to learn that football has by far the most markets on BonkersBet. Even so, they manage to do a decent job of catering for fans of other sports too. The tennis section is particularly packed, and fans of American sports like basketball, ice hockey and baseball will also be happy with what’s on offer.
With that said, there are still a few notable absences here. Massive markets like boxing and horse racing are missing, and the range of less-heralded sports is limited to say the least. Hopefully this is something which BonkersBet will address in time, though.
Mobile Betting Options & App
We touched earlier on the idea that there are certain ‘fundamentals’ which all bookies should be sure to execute. In addition to having a good football section, another of these is to support your mobile audience. On-the-go betting has never been bigger, after all, and it’s getting more popular all the time.
This requirement has not been satisfied here, primarily because there is neither a BonkersBet Android app nor an iOS version available to download. On the one hand, you could argue that BonkersBet is a very new bookmaker, and it’s therefore excusable that they haven’t gotten round to providing an app yet. We’d respond by saying that, if you’re looking to make a good impression from the beginning, you should probably have an app in place before you launch at all! Regardless of which side of that debate you’re on, we’d certainly hope to see a BonkersBet app released sooner rather than later.
The situation is somewhat rectified by the mobile version of the website. Plenty of time and effort has clearly gone into adapting this to a smaller screen, with excellent results. The layout has been nicely streamlined – the drop down menus are hidden by default, and activated by tapping a ‘Menu’ button, for example – but none of the desktop version’s functionality has been lost. Regular readers will be shocked to learn that there isn’t a huge amount of information available regarding BonkersBet’s security measures! Fear not, though, because we’ve still managed to scrape together a few details.
For starters, BonkersBet does use SSL encryption, as you’d expect from any modern bookie. They also store users’ funds in isolated accounts, managed by leading European banks. Finally, and most importantly, they also hold a license courtesy of the Government of Curacao. While we generally prefer to see a license from the UK’s Gambling Commission too, this should still be enough to put any ‘Is BonkersBet legit?’-related doubts to bed.

The withdrawal methods are generally the same… except for the exclusion of Mastercard, which is bizarre! This is another area in which younger bookies are often found wanting. Again, though, BonkersBet manages to pull through by offering a solid level of customer support.
The BonkersBet customer service is provided via two main channels. Crucially, live chat is in place here. The actual operating hours aren’t listed, but our test enquiry was answered extremely quickly (and helpfully). Alternatively you can email the support team, though this obviously represents a slower route. Phone support would have been a welcome bonus, but the inclusion of live chat more than makes up for this omission.
It’s fortunate that the direct BonkersBet contact options are good, because the FAQ is lacklustre to say the least. There are a mere 10 entries in all, and the only areas these cover are My Account and Payments. We certainly hope this section will be expanded and developed over time.

BonkersBet was founded in 2018, and is owned by a company called Velorum Corporation, who appear to have little other experience in the gambling sphere. Somewhat unusually BonkersBet are based in neither Gibraltar nor Malta, but the sunny Caribbean island of Curaçao.

When taken in the context of everything else this bookmaker has to offer, its omissions become even more frustrating. After all, this is generally a bookie with a whole lot to offer, which executes the basics well. Its layout is streamlined and attractive, with the entire site adapting well to mobile devices. The football section is comprehensive, the customer service and payment options are solid, and the one ongoing promotion which is in place is useful.
Those aforementioned omissions, though, cannot be overlooked. Still not having a mobile app in place, in this day and age, is a misstep. The lack of ongoing promotions is an even more troubling problem, as it could cause new customers to quickly lose interest.
