Cavs Vs Warriors 2016 Game 3 Play
The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors collide in Game 3 of the NBA Finals on Wednesday night at the Quicken Loans Arena.
The Warriors were able to take control of the NBA Finals with a dominant 110-77 win over the Cavaliers in Game 2 on Sunday. Klay Thompson drained four treys on his way to 17 points while Stephen Curry added 18 points while playing just 25 minutes because the Warriors simply didn't need his production as they rode the hot hand of Draymond Green who drained five 3-pointers en route to a game-high 28 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists. On the defensive end, the Warriors did a fantastic job of holding the Cavaliers to just 35.4 percent shooting while winning the rebound battle by 46-34 and you have to give a lot of the credit ot Andrew Bogut who set the tone with five blocks in just 15 minutes of action.
As for the Cavaliers, LeBron James looked to be on a mission in this game, scoring 14 points in the second quarter to give his team the early lead but he would finish with just 19 points and nine assists for the game. Kyrie Irving was disappointing with just 10 points on five of 14 shooting while JR Smith was once again quiet on the offensive end, finishing with just five points after scoing just three points in Game 1. In terms of injury news, the Cavs will be sweating on the availability of Kevin Love who is dealing with concussion after he took an inadvertant elbow to the back of his head in the second quarter. If he isn't able to play in Game 3 due to his concussion, Richard Jefferson and Channing Frye would see an uptick in their minutes in what is almost a must-win game.
In ATS trends, the Warriors are 5-0 ATS in their last five NBA Championship games and 6-2 ATS in their last eight games following a win of more than 10 points, while the Cavs are 6-0 ATS in their last six home games and 0-5 ATS in their last five NBA Championship games.
Head to head, the Warriors are 6-1 ATS in the last seven meetings overall and 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Cleveland.
I had the Cavs stealing one of the first two games of this series as I thought we were headed for a dramatic Game 7 finish, but the poor play from the Cavs has me thinking that this series won't be going the distance. The Warriors haven't had to rely on Curry or Thompson much at all which makes their wins all the more impressive, so I'm actually taking the Warriors to cause the minor upset and take a commanding 3-0 series lead when it's all said and done.

The Cavs were protecting a four-point lead in the last few minutes in the fourth quarter but in the last few positions, they weren’t able to convert a basket.
The Warriors who are usually dangerous in the close out minutes, demonstrated once again that greatness.
Kevin Durant dribbles the ball from the Cavs area after a missed shot.
Durant saw LeBron James waiting for him inside the three-point line thinking he might drive to the basket as the lead is only two points.

However, KD took that opportunity and he took a three-pointer instead and it goes directly to the bottom of the rim.
That basket gave the Warriors a one point lead but most importantly the momentum shifted to Golden State.
All of the last positions of Cleveland were all ended up in turnovers and the last one was a Kevin Love ill advised shot.
It’s all because of the defense of the Dubs and most likely Cavs players were already demoralized of the quick shift of events.
