And fittingly, it’s called Ocean WOW Rewards Club (replacing the current Ocean Rewards Club).

Players will have the opportunity to earn rewards that extend well beyond the Atlantic City property. Here is just a small sampling:

Mike Donovan, chief marketing officer at Ocean, commented on the new program via a press release:

“We’ve reimagined what it means to be part of a loyalty program. Guests can now earn special perks and privileges that extend beyond Ocean. … We’ve partnered with national brands to give our members more opportunities to take advantage of exclusive benefits and experiences.”

How to become a Chairman at Ocean Casino

Just like the other player loyalty programs around Atlantic City, tier points are needed to move up to the higher levels. To earn tier points, you have to play. The more you play, the more points you earn, the higher your status and the better your rewards.

Obviously, players will enjoy the most benefits by reaching Black or Chairman status.

Here is a breakdown by tier points:

  • Blue (0 – 2,999 points)
  • Gold (3,000 – 14,999 points)
  • Platinum (15,000 – 74,999 points)
  • Black (75,000 – 299,999 points)
  • Chairman (300,000+ points)

Each level includes some form of benefits ranging from flex comps and same day free play to free parking.

All cardholders currently enjoy complimentary self-parking.

The Chairman level, however, is where Ocean customers will truly experience the royal treatment. Here are the benefits exclusive to that tier level:

Like purchasing or leasing a car, customers must qualify for financing through Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.

And since this is a revamped rewards club, the earning period is Oct. 1, 2019-Sept. 30, 2020. The benefit period is Oct. 1, 2020–Sept. 30, 2021.

How do comp dollars work in Ocean Casino rewards?

To be clear, tier points for the Ocean WOW Rewards Club cannot be spent or redeemed. But comp dollars provide players “more choices to spend earned balances.”

Players can earn comp dollars, or flex comps, by playing slots or table games at Ocean. In the end, it’s your choice how you redeem your comps, but here’s a breakdown of how the system works:

  • 1:1 comps for dining, on-property shopping, or hotel stays
  • 2:1 slot play, $50-$500 of flex comps into slot play, redeemable at the Ocean Rewards Club

Unless you are at Blue level in the Ocean Casino rewards program, flex comps expire after six months of inactivity. Blue level comps expire after three months. And of course, there is a flex comp maximum of $5,000.

Note that the new rewards program does not mention any online casino crossover benefits.

Ocean Casino is putting players first

Those who have driven or walked past Ocean in recent weeks may have noticed the giant banner that reads “BEST CASINO + BEST COMPS” hanging from the side of the parking garage.

That was the ultimate goal, said Donovan in an interview on Friday. The new Ocean Casino rewards just made sense.

“Our tier rollout period from the property’s opening was Oct. 1,” he said. “So we had this opportunity. We could keep everything the same with what the customers are used to today or give our guests something that is really different from anything else that is out there in town and try to make it the best players program that we possibly can.”

More importantly, this is the same property that was up for sale months after its June 27,2018 opening.

New owner Luxor Capital continues to focus on future growth. And from a casino revenue standpoint, the customers are definitely giving Ocean (aka the former Revel) another chance.

As a result, the property enjoyed its best August in the property’s short history. Here are the highlights via the latest report from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement:

  • The casino win came in at $24,050,296 (a 22.7 % year-over-year increase)
  • NJ sports betting revenue of $1,268,961 (up 144.2%) was the second most among Atlantic City’s eight license holders.
  • Total gaming revenue of $25,690,879 is up 25.2% year over year.
